Horses are relationship-based beings that live in a continually aware state to guarantee their safety and survival. Horses use their energy to engage with the energies in everything and everyone around them in order to maintain their safety.
Working with a horse provides opportunities to recognize the energy we bring into a setting, learn to regulate it, and build a working/trusting relationship with a horse.
Equine facilitated psychotherapy is a live-action biofeedback option to learn self-regulation, mindfulness, boundaries, confidence, leadership and trust. For some people, so much more can be accomplished with our horse partners than can be attempted inside a talk-therapy setting.
“The best thing for the inside of a man is the outside of a horse.”
